Permit requirements
Goods applications
- Complete all the sections of the C-BRTA permit application form and submit the completed form with the required documents as indicated in Annexure C (temporary permits – 14-day/3-month permits)
- Submit the application and supporting documents by hand to the Permit Office or by email to permits@cbrta.co.za. Applications are also accepted by fax, courier or post.

Taxi applications
As a taxi operator, I want a temporary passenger permit:
- Complete all the sections of the C-BRTA permit application form and submit the completed form with the required documents as indicated in Annexure E (temporary permits – 14-day permits)
- Submit the application and supporting documents by hand to the Permit Office or by email to permits@cbrta.co.za. Applications are also accepted by fax, courier or post

Bus applications
As a bus operator, I want a temporary passenger permit:
- Complete all sections of the C-BRTA permit application form and submit the completed form with the required documents as indicated in Annexure G (bus passenger application requirements, temporary permits – 14-day permits)
- Submit the application and supporting documents by hand to the Permit Office or by email to permits@cbrta.co.za. Applications are also accepted by fax, courier or post

Tourism applications
As a tour operator, I want a long-term passenger permit for tourists:
- Complete all sections of the C-BRTA permit application form and submit the completed form with the required documents as indicated in Annexure J (application requirements for tour-bus permits – 1-year/5-year permits)
- Submit the application and supporting documents by hand to the Permit Office or by email to permits@cbrta.co.za. Applications are also accepted by fax, courier or post

Cabotage applications
Duplicate permits
As a permit holder, I want a duplicate permit:
- Complete all sections of the C-BRTA permit application form and submit the completed form with the required documents as indicated in Annexure R (application requirements – duplicate permits)
- Submit the application and supporting documents by hand to the Permit Office or by email to permits@cbrta.co.za. Applications are also accepted by fax, courier or post
